EFT - What the tap...….

EFT – What is it and how does it work?

EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique – is a psychological acupressure optimising your emotional health. It is a type of counselling intervention using many different forms of alternative therapies such as acupuncture, energy medicines, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming),etc

The tapping is performed on the body’s energy lines known as meridians. These meridians run throughout the body from the top of the head to the tips of the fingers and toes.

By tapping on the prescribed meridian points it mimics the effects of Acupuncture and focuses on these energy points to release and rebalance our body’s energy. Many alternative therapies, such as Reflexology, Bowen Technique, Acupressure, and Indian Head Massage work with these energy pathways referred to as Meridians; by rebalancing them and in time our clients.

EFT is beneficial

· For rebalances the body’s energy pathways via tapping on specific meridians

· To help clear out the emotional garbage and baggage, that has possibly lingered in your body for a long time and caused symptoms such as head and back aches, chronic conditions, stresses and tensions etc.

· For reprogramming negative thought patterns by replacing them with achievable and constructive positive ones thought patterns

· In the removal of negative emotions that aren’t always evident but can have a lingering effect on everyday life

Using a combination of positive affirmations, vocally, whilst tapping on the energy meridians, emotional blockages can be cleared out of your body’s bioenergy system so allowing your body to be restored, reenergised to aid in the restoration of optimal health and therefore healing and nurturing the body and help with the healing of physical conditions.

By ridding the mind of this destructive short circuitry which holds on to various forms of negativity the mind can now get to work on reworking the negativity into positivity thus returning the body to its optimal balance in order to achieve optimal health essential for the healing itself

Holistic as a definition means ‘treating the whole’ so with regard to holistic therapies this enables the whole person – mind, body and soul – to be taken care of. With this in mind, so EFT compliments and aids other forms of holistic and talk therapies. Using EFT in conjunction with hypnotherapy, for instance, allows issues to be worked through on a conscious level and followed by relaxation and subconscious reprogramming to reinforce the EFT work done in the same session, therefore benefitting the client doubly.

EFT can be used for all sorts of problems and issues from weight e.g. emotional eating, to PTSD which can be hidden deep within a person, to an event which happened many years previously that was tucked away as irrelevant at the time but could cause an issue by way of a trigger later in life e.g. bullying as a child or in a work place.
